Do Adult Children Living With Parents Qualify for Medicaid?

by Answer by Gabriel Heiser

QUESTION:

Are adult children living with their parents eligible for medicaid in Illinois if the adult child has no income?

ANSWER:

In general, such “in-kind income” is not counted as income that could affect Medicaid eligibility. However, this does vary from state to state, so you'll need to research the rule in your state.

I just want to thank you for this site. It answered my questions. I think many people that do research on the net take it for granted and when they find what they are looking for they forget "someone put time, money, etc into providing me with this information."

Thank you!
